Scoliosis Weekend: Parents and Teens Living with Scoliosis (Dec 6)

SGD 299.00

Event Details

Sunday, Dec 6, 2026
2pm–5pm
SGD 299 per pair (one parent + one child/teen)

Your teen has been diagnosed with scoliosis, and you both have questions. This afternoon session is for the two of you together, so you hear the same explanation and can work through it as a team. We cover what usually happens from the first school screening to daily life with a brace and an exercise programme, and how Pilates fits in.

What we cover

  • What scoliosis is

  • Why brace and exercise can help, and how they work together

  • The typical journey of a Singaporean teen with scoliosis, from school screening to the point of decision

  • Altum’s Scoliosis programme for children/teens and why it starts at twice a week

  • What happens when school starts, including P.E., sport and long hours sitting

  • How a teenager lives with scoliosis, including the social and emotional side

  • Whether the fun ends

What you go home with
A realistic picture of the journey ahead, honest answers to questions that parents are often too scared to ask, and a practical outlook of what daily life might look like for a teen with scoliosis, and how parents can better support them.

Taught by
Joanne Chong, Singapore’s first Authorised Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner.

This session is educational and does not replace advice from your doctor or specialist.

Looking for the adult session? See Saturday for adults living with scoliosis.
