Train as a Classical Pilates teacher through structured mentorship, disciplined study, and the full system of the work.

About the Programme

The Altum Teacher Training Programme is a comprehensive education in Classical Pilates designed to develop thoughtful, capable teachers.

More than a certification, ATTP is a journey into understanding the Classical Pilates method deeply. Students learn not only the exercises, but the intent behind them: how each movement fits within the larger system of Pilates and how to convey it clearly to others.

The Altum Difference

Why Train with ATTP

Many teacher training programmes focus mainly on learning exercises. At Altum, the focus is on understanding the work and becoming a responsible teacher.

  • Understand the System: Learn how the exercises connect within the Classical Pilates method.

  • Learn Through Personal Practice: Experience the work consistently in your own body.

  • Develop Your Teaching Voice: Communicate the work clearly without relying on memorised scripts.

  • Master Employability: Emphasise on observation, responsible teaching, personal branding, and professional conduct.

The programme attracts dedicated Pilates practitioners, movement professionals, and aspiring teachers who wish to study the Classical Pilates system in depth.

The programme develops both technical understanding and responsible teaching skills through a progressive training pathway.

How the Programme is Structured

Basic → Intermediate → Advanced

The Altum Teacher Training Programme progresses through three stages of study:

  • Basic Seminar (50 hours)

Introduction to the foundational principles of Classical Pilates, Pre-Pilates and Basic system repertoire across Mat, Reformer, Wunda Chair, Baby Arm Chair, Cadillac and more, and fundamental teaching skills.

  • Intermediate Seminar (60 hours)

Expansion of the Intermediate system repertoire and progression of the Classical method, with development of teaching skills through increased observation, practice teaching, and mentorship.

  • Advanced Seminar (50 hours)

Study of the Advanced system and a complete overview of progression and integration across all apparatus, deepening understanding of the full Classical Pilates method.

Training is delivered through three progressive in-person seminars:

Additional Workshops and Specialist Sessions

Alongside the seminars, students participate in workshops that deepen both technical understanding and the craft of teaching:

  • Cueing with Clarity – The Art of Teaching Movement in Classical Pilates

  • Functional Anatomy – taught by senior physiotherapist Kai Ling

  • Nuts & Bolts Workshop – with Karen Frischmann

  • Technical and career development sessions such as Caring for the Reformer

Beyond the seminar weekends, students continue developing their teaching through structured practice and mentorship.

  • Personal practice and observation

  • One-to-one mentorship sessions

  • Group mentorship discussions

  • Workshops with globally respected teachers in the Classical Pilates community

Training Hours and Practice Requirements

These hours allow students to integrate the work in their own bodies while gradually developing teaching experience under guidance.

Mentorship & Learning Environment

Mentorship

ATTP places strong emphasis on close guidance throughout the programme.

Unlike large cohort programmes where students can become lost in the group, we maintain a mentorship-focused approach and limit our cohorts to ensure close, personal guidance between our students and mentors.
