Which May Suit You Better

Where Altum Academy’s Programme May Offer More Value

  • More contact hours (500 hours in Level 1) compared to shorter or hybrid programmes.

  • Mandatory anatomy and post-rehab workshops led by physiotherapists for clinical depth.

  • Mentorship included with discounted studio hours and free weekly sessions with Programme Director Ole Eugenio.

  • Fully in-person, small-cohort learning environment for stronger retention and personal guidance.

  • A close, ongoing relationship with mentors and faculty, unlike larger brand-name programmes where trainees can feel anonymous.

  • Career readiness focus, including apparatus care, client management, and freelance skills.

  • We teach exercises across all apparatus, including archival and pre-pilates, as originally taught by Joseph Pilates and his protégés.

There are at least 10 apparatus in the system that our curriculum covers.

Where Contemporary Pilates Programmes May Offer More Value

  • More flexible online or hybrid formats for those unable to commit to in-person training.

  • Wider global brand recognition (STOTT, BASI, etc.), which some employers may prioritise.

  • Lower initial investment if workshops or mentorship are excluded.

Where Other Classical Programmes May Offer More Value

  • Smaller, boutique-style training groups in certain studios.

  • Lower upfront costs for shorter or less comprehensive courses.

  • Regional accessibility — some programmes may be available locally without travel.
