The Classical Pilates Teacher Training Pathway
The Programme
This is not a shortcut certification. It is a rigorous, system-based journey designed to preserve Joseph Pilates’ original intent while integrating modern movement science.
Our programme is structured into two levels:
Full Level 1 — 500 hours
Full Level 2 — Additional 100 hours after Full Level 1
Every trainee is guided step by step through coursework, mentorship, and apprenticeship, ensuring you graduate as a confident, well-rounded Classical Pilates teacher.
What Sets Our Teacher Training Apart
Our Approach
In a market full of Pilates certifications, Altum Academy is distinct:
-
We are the official Singapore certifying centre for Smart Movement International, founded by Ole Eugenio, a global leader in Classical Pilates education.
-
Every trainee receives close 1:1 guidance. The kind of personal attention large, standardised programmes can’t offer.
-
Our mentors bring decades of teaching and clinical experience across Asia.
-
Graduates of this programme are highly sought-after, both at Altum Pilates and studios worldwide.

“Contrology develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit.”
—Joseph Pilates

What Our Graduates Say.
"The depth of Classical Pilates truly came alive in my teaching."
The programme reshaped the way I move, think, and approach teaching and Pilates. The depth of Classical Pilates came alive through the mentorship I received because everything was so personalised to me. I never felt like just another trainee.
—Sarah L., Classical Pilates Teacher at Altum Pilates and Como Shambala
"The one-to-one attention gave me clarity and confidence."
The mentorship at Altum is what drew me to choose this as my Teacher Training programme. The mentors knew my strengths and challenges, and how to push me. The personalised attention gave me clarity and confidence to finally pursue my passion for Pilates and teaching.
—Patricia C, Classical Pilates Teacher at Altum Pilates
"Switching to classical completely changed my teaching."
Coming from a contemporary background, I thought I already knew Pilates, but Altum’s bridging programme showed me the depth and logic of the Classical system. The mentorship helped me understand the exercises on an even deeper level, refine my cues, and set me apart as a teacher. It was the best decision for my career.
—Melissa T., Bridging Graduate, Certified Classical Pilates Teacher
